Lies and Deceit - A Fantasy RP

Luna listened attentively, not sure if she liked all that she heard, but she knew deep down inside that it was necessary to train when living in a world like this. She nodded, responding "That's probably a good idea." She added quietly "It's rather sad this is our reality, having to be wary all the time. But maybe it's for the better. So that we don't die in the long run." Another pause. Luna looked down at the floor, before continuing in a somber tone, one that was sincere and somewhat fearful "I'd hate to lose you. You're the only real friend I've ever had. Which I guess makes you my best friend." Luna then managed to look up at her again, weary of worrying.
Persepolis nodded grimly, "It is unfortunate that this is our reality. But we have to do what we have to do. If that means training hard and preparing ourselves in case we get into a fatal situation, then so be it." Persepolis added in a lighter tone, "I don't think you will ever lose me. I would never abandon my best friend. Anyone who will try to take me away from you will have a bigger fight than they would have thought. I won't ever go down easy." She looked at Luna, making sure she understood that she had nothing to worry about.

Luna smiled bleakly at Persepolis' confidence. But she could only do so much, bullets would decimate her, a group of hunters could torture her. She wasn't as confident. But she stayed quiet, not wanting to offend that confidence that Persepolis provided. She just wasn't as confident. That they would survive with no worry. There were too many enemies out there, and while training was good and necessary, she still wasn't 100% confident. Horius could return and slaughter them all. They only had two guns, as opposed to Horius' one. And that thing could wipe them out, along with his invisibility.

Eva heard Lucas outside the door doing something, and debated going outside of her room. She made sure her glasses were on right before opening the door, offering Lucas a shy smile once she saw him.

Xylo chuckled, glad to see her day had been good and that no one had hurt her. He responded “Mine was good as well, I just helped Luna with some training. She finally mastered the levitation-knife thing she was trying to do.”
Lucas stood on the porch, in one hand he held a sharpened flint spear head he had made earlier, and in the other, the spear body. He noticed Eva and returned her smile. "Hey Eva. How are you?"
~
"levitation-knife-thing, huh? That sounds pretty cool. And efficient." River said.

Persepolis spoke, "I can tell you're not confident and that's okay. To be honest, I'm not all that confident either. But I'd rather act like I'm confident than let on that I'm not." She looked away, not sure what to do next, "I wish we didn't face so many problems. If only we couldn't easily be killed, if only we didn't have enemies, if only we could keep being one step ahead of our problems. So many 'if only's'." She didn't even bother to hide her emotions, her upset was clear on her face.

Eva replied courteously “I’m good, thank you.” She looked at what he had been doing, and realized he was making a spear. She didn’t know if she should leave him alone to concentrate or not, so she simply stood there until she realized he was probably busy, and walked towards the woods, where she headed towards the nearby canyon. She just wanted to sit down and think over the landscape( he can follow if you want).

Xylo nodded, responding “It is pretty cool, and efficient. She’s gotten a lot better in fighting.” He looked down at her, before asking softly, reminiscent of the kiss they had shared earlier”You still up for that visit to the waterfall tomorrow?”

Luna listened to her, before sighing. She was about to open up to Persepolis in a way she hadn’t to anyone before. She started nervously “When I was younger, I always asked ‘if only’. If only I had parents that loved me. If only I wasn’t bullied. If only I had friends.” She continued solemnly “Over time I realized if only’s never work. They never happen. You’re only left with what you have.” She admitted sadly “It ruins countless amounts of dreams.”

Persepolis listened attentively, aware that Luna was telling her something that she had never shared before. "I'm sorry that you didn't have as good of a past as you should have. You deserved better. You deserved to not have to wish on 'if only's', you should have had these things to begin with and I can't imagine how much it hurt to not have them." She continued, speaking from her heart, "We can't change the past of course, no matter how much we want to or how much it may define us." She gave Luna a soft smile, "Maybe from now on we should have no more 'if only's' and instead we should have 'I can's'. Instead of ruining dreams we can build dreams that will turn into a positive reality."
Persepolis waited, silent. She hoped that her words were heard by Luna in the way that she intended them.

Luna listened, her heart lightening a bit but still remaining rather dark. She responded “You’re right. Let’s do that.” Her complex thoughts swarmed her like an army invading the enemy’s land, ravaging and pillaging it wherever it went. With a soft sigh, she responded “Sometimes I don’t know if I can. That’s all.” Part of her disliked her for admitting her weaknesses, but she knew she was admitting them to the right person and that she needed to. She had been a caged animal too long, holding her thought hostage within her own body, not letting them release, lest anyone know her weaknesses. But now she had a friend she could trust in Persepolis

Lucas put what he was holding down. He walked after her, staying silent but he knew she knew he was there.

"That`s good that she is better at fighting. She will need to be." River said, then smiled. "Diffidently."

Eva looked back, seeing Lucas approach her. She let her focus return to the canyon. Her hope for something happening between him and her was dwindling, he seemed oblivious. Maybe she was too impatient, she thought. She probably was. But she had never felt so anxious in her life about someone else. She let him approach silently.

Xylo smiled, responding “Me too.” He looked up at the sky to prove his point, before adding “And it shouldn’t rain tomorrow, it should be nice outside.”, referring to the current warmth and lack of clouds.
