Lies and Deceit - A Fantasy RP

Eva laughed out loud, enjoying their carefree conversation. She responded with an entertained tone, "He really loves you then." After the wave of humor passed over her, she suddenly realized something. She commented thoughtfully, but in a manner that wouldn't stir up a heated debate, "But you also need your space. Everyone does." Eva looked to River, hoping she hadn't caused any conflict. She had found a respect for the Aves at the cabin, and wanted them to be able to trust and respect her.
River nodded, glancing at Eva. She, truthfully, wasn`t sure of what she thought of an overprotective Xylo.
She wasn`t watching where she was going, and tripped on a root, landing on her hands and knees. She gave an aggravated huff, she was fine, just annoyed that she had fell.

Luna saw the clear outline in the clothes of her friend, and knew she hadn't told the entire story. With somewhat of a disapproving look, she asked her friend, looking her dead in the eyes, "What are those guns doing there?" She knew something had happened. And Luna wasn't angered, she simply wanted to know the whole truth. Her judgement could wait until the whole story had been told, and so could their conversation about what bothered her. Luna could easily be misunderstood here, for being angered at Persepolis, but in reality, she was just concerned for the welfare of her friend above anything else. And she knew Persepolis hated guns, and she didn't picture her wielding one. Something else had to be going on.
Persepolis sat up and took off her trench coat with a sigh, knowing the gig was up. The guns on her belt were now fully revealed. Never averting her eyes from Luna's piercing gaze, Persepolis spoke calmly, "I'll admit, I haven't told you the whole truth. But I will now. When I was training, after my near-fall, I heard someone moving through the brush near me. I transformed into a bird, seeking them out. What I found was a human. He was trekking with a pack. I noticed right away that he had these guns and I divebombed him, transforming back into an Aves at the last second and taking these guns from him. I took them so he couldn't shoot me." Persepolis allowed a pause in her speech. "What I didn't notice at first was that this man was badly wounded. He wouldn't have been able to really harm me before I could escape. By the time I noticed this and pointed out his injuries, he was already very defensive. He was plotting to get his guns back from me and I panicked. I flew away, taking both of his guns with me." Persepolis' eyes clouded, "I stole these guns from Stephen and Horius' victim. I've said that anyone who wields a gun is a coward. I guess that makes me a coward, too."

Persepolis squared her shoulders, whispering her biggest admission regarding the guns, "As much as I hate guns and hate to admit this, there is a bigger reason why I took these guns and still have them. When it comes down to the wire, I'd rather be a coward pulling a trigger than a braveheart being shot."

Eva looked over to her as she fell, relieved she hadn’t fallen on her stomach. She asked considerately, “Are you ok?”, approaching her and squatting beside her to look for any serious cuts or anything.

(I want to make a longer reply for this but don’t have the time rn. Expect a reply later, sry)

Luna listened, a bit confused as to why Persepolis hadn’t told her in the first place. Her coldheartedness returned, whispering to her Persepolis was a bad friend. She had lying to her, hiding away the whole story. Once again, she combatted it while Persepolis spoke, trying to reason and admit she was being stupid. Why did her past haunt her so much? Why did the ghosts plague her still? Why did the ghouls still bother whispering in her ear?
She calmed herself, and simply listened to the end of the story. Persepolis was right about the last part, and the story didn’t seem anything too special. She didn’t judge her; Persepolis must have been just scared, more reacting. But that question still plagued her.
With a small sigh, Luna nodded her head and replied “I agree. That’s a good idea, we might need those later, even though we might not like them.” She added in a sympathetic voice “And I understand why you took his guns, you just reacted in the heat of the moment. But I would hate to be that man, after what Horius and Stephen did to him.”
A pause. She took another breath, before asking in a voice that was a mix of confusion and hurt, “Why didn’t you want to tell me? Did I do something?”

Persepolis nodded, agreeing, "You're right. We might need these later. And I was just reacting in the heat of the moment," Persepolis added, "God... I'm horrible. I've left that poor man defenceless. Like he hasn't gone through enough already." Persepolis looked at Luna when she asked her those questions. Before Persepolis could even begin to answer, her eyes filled with tears and she blinked rapidly, trying not to cry. "It's not your fault. Trust me. Blame me and not yourself." She swallowed, "I didn't tell you because I didn't know what to do. Here I am with these weapons I hate and hating myself more for taking them. I didn't know how to bring it up without worrying you. Even though it's really not that big of a deal." Persepolis hugged Luna, trying to reassure her, "I promise I wasn't trying to betray you and your trust. I just honestly didn't know what to do." Persepolis choked out, "One more thing I need to tell you. I am self-destructing inside. I don't know what all the factors are, but it's like yesterday just flipped a switch for me or something. I went from being fine to now not being able to trust myself, doubting myself, and fighting myself over every decision I make. I feel like I'm about to fall apart and I don't know what to do." Persepolis asked, "Is there anything else you want to know?"

Alec set his backpack down, and hid it under some leaves. He had found a nice spot to camp that night, but he didn't want to unload anything until a few days later, to make sure it wasn't something else's territory. Alec looked around. He wanted to make some sort of weapon, preferably one he could use from a distance. He found a sturdy stick in the shape of a Y and started working on making a slingshot. He grabbed his backpack & pulled out a rubber band, which he used to tie onto the stick. Alec pulled off some fabric from his backpack and turned it into a pouch. He loaded a rock into the newly made slingshot, and aimed it at a tree & shot it, missing by a foot. The slingshot wasn't super accurate, but with some practice it could be a very useful weapon.
