I'm not sure where to start!! WOW!!

Let's see....first, chickens are doing great, laying regular, and the roosters are still stinkers (I only have two...maybe none if they keep it up...pretty boy got me the other day!

)
I came home with four, tiny, precious DUCKS!! They will be just little Peking ducks...but oh boy, they are adorable!!

My little neice had hatched some out for me. She is a dear.
Did I ever run into the ultimate yardsales! We had the vehicle packed to the brim with suitcases...., had to make room for the trunks I bought....and the cast iron! Oh my! Wait till you see! I'm hunting for my old camera cord....found my old camera, but no cord....

$20 for the ANTIQUE cast iron set....you will know what I'm talking about when you see it....it came with a teapot, a 2-burner skillet with lid, 8" pancake griddle skillet, 2 egg skillets, a dutch oven with lid!!!

what a deal!
I paid $8 for one trunk (it's an old steamer trunk) and the other one was free. (the handles were broke, the leather had wore out....gee....

)

Oh! Do ya'll remember me talking about the woman who had lost her house in the tornado? Then just a few months back (just before Christmas) she moved into her new house? Well, we were in MO for the memorial service for my Dad, and she called in tears. Her house had BURNED to the ground!! She is fine, physically...but emotional...pretty devasted. Send prayers her way when you can.

I have soooooo much more news...but it will be premature...Ozark....you will know what I'm referring too....

I had a lovely time visiting with my family. It was so cool up in the mountains, trees, trees, trees!

Oh yes...I killed a 5 ft rat snake! I was helping my neice at her coop and I knew there was a snake, told her, she went around the corner looked where her little duck was sitting on some eggs...and there that thing had already gotten 3 down....she ran to get me a hoe. You never know what they'll do...well, that's another story.

I'm busy with laundry today....unpacking, then re-packing...

You are always so lucky to find these wonderful items when yard saling!! I always end up at the ones with nothing but junk...but then junk to me is someone else's treasure

Prayers for the poor woman who lost her house a second time. prayers to those who may be losing their homes due to the economy. It frightens me and makes me terribly sad to think of folks who are losing everything. We really need prayers for all of them. "There but for the grace of God....."

I can share some good news with you. This morning was a very important doctors visit for me. After many tests....I was told I only have to see my oncologist once a year now!! Not every 3 months anymore, and certainly not the monthly visits!
Everything looked great! So thrilled! Life is good WITH God!
It has been a battle, but I didn't go thru this alone.

Thank you for all the prayers, thoughts, and well wishes.
Not sure why we have to face things, or for what end...but you just keep trusting.

Tomatoes...am picking tomorrow.
Yes, you can get tomatoes for $3 a five gallon bucket...you supply the bucket and you pick. We are going to the same farm as we did last year.
If you want to go pick, or just buy their tomatoes, I will give you directions...just pm or email me.

Finished the duck pen. Whew...it's so humid out my glasses kept fogging up, and I'm blind as a bat (without the sonar) without them....

Poor things, I was going to put them in the pen with my buffs, but the tame gentle darlings acted as if they had found a wonderful bug species and the ducks screamed so pitiful, couldn't stand it! No way they were going to stay there....so, I had been bringing them back and forth from the sun room at night, and the kiddoes playhouse during the day. Not working!
Oh...forgot to add in what we named the little ducks....Ling-Ling, Sing-Sing, Ping-Ping, Ming-Ming...now, isn't that original?

Now, I hope....the coop issue's are settled.

Besides Pretty Boy and Fancy Pants...they get along great with each other...enough hens to go around...however, they despise anyone in their coop!
Pretty Boy is rotten!! Anyone want a Dominique roo?

The triplets have made the parsonage their home. (The 3 lab mixed dogs someone dumped) Shouldn't complain, we had an unexpected visitor the other night....they did not come to the door. No sign of entry...but the Rev. said he was certain someone was at the window. The dogs when they heard the floorboards creaking woke up and set up a clamor, hope that works.

The heat here has been incredible this past week...100's. And the humidity...soggy, sweltering, dripping temps! I break out in a dripping sweat on the walk from the parsonage to the church!

I lose energy when it gets hot.
Last night we had a storm come thru....lot's of lightening. Didn't cool off any...however, a little before it hit we had cooler temps w/ wind blowing so helped with the mosquitoes.
Bought round tables for the church fellowship hall (and extra chairs) Love, love, love the round tables! They look great!
They were used, but you wouldn't know it!
I'm tired, my hair is dripping (just showered) and I feel my bed calling!

Well, good news, Gwen! The Lord has answered my prayers. My dh has been laid off for a month and a half (from a job he had for just three months) and when he filed for unemployment the place he had been laid off from tried to say he "quit"!? We were confused, angered and then frightened as we didn't think his word would be taken over that company but after lots of prayers and putting our faith in the Lord, the unemployment people took his word! Praise God. Dh kept telling me that I had to have faith but let me tell you, after almost five weeks of no income I was getting very stressed. I should have known better. Anyway, we are breathing sighs of relief now and are thankful as there are lots of folks much worse off than we are.
Thanks to BYC, I was able to make our own bread, trade eggs for milk to make cheese, butter..
I hope you will have more good news for us very soon????????????
I am so glad those dogs are at your place, something bad could have happened!! Be safe and KEEP THOSE DOGS. LOL

I GOT A CAMERA yesterday!!!!!!!

Those ducks are adorable. The rest of my buff girls were hiding in the shade....whew...it's humid....

My goodness, I've missed taking pictures! (My family have missed pictures with my emails...he he he...well, maybe they did? :O )
