You have pics of a barred rock pullet and SLW. With an awfully red comb, for 6 weeks.
Well, the Wyandottes look like Wyandottes.There aren't any barred Rocks. Rocks have yellow skin and barring, these have cuckoo pattern and white skin. The photos are a little blurry but I also see what appears to be a crest on at least one. Where did you get these?
These SLW's were 7 weeks when I took this picture...use it as a comparison
the one on the right is a pullet the other two were cockerels
fore ground cockerel and the one at the back with head turned pullet
I don't think any of them are cockerels. The SLW males normally show some breaks in the pattern by now and more comb development than that.They definitely do not look the cockrels in your picture. I haven't had chicks in 20 years. Could they a grow a comb that big in a week? Ours are 6 weeks old. I am so confused. When is the best time to figure out sex on them? Am I just trying to do this too early?
