I have some light brahmas that I bought from a hatchery last oct. can anyone tell me the standard on a light brahma roo's comb? I have almost all of the roo's that have rose combs or crowns. Can someone tell me if this is acceptable for the standard or not?

No - Light Brahmas should have pea combs. It should be of moderate size, and have a definite three rows of small "peas." Hatchery Brahmas often are crossed with other breeds, and come with single and rose combs.

A couple of questions. I just bought 4 adult Brahmas yesterday. A rooster and 3 hens. 1st last night I went to check on them to see if they were adapting well to their new coop and they were all on the ground and not on the roost is this typical for Brahamas?
2nd the Rooster has not crowed I knew they are suppose to be quite but is this breed crowless?

How old are they? Because they are new to the area, it will take them a while. Brahmas do roost, just like any other chicken. They do crow, too - Often it may take a while though. How old his he?

Also consider that they are new. Even egg laying will take a while to get back into cycle.

you say 3 rows? that is what the roo's have is three rows and the combs are small. just always thought this was a rose or crown comb. If I can I will try to get pics. My hens just have a single row very small comb too. I bought mine from welp. but they shipped out of new mexico. beautiful birds and I love their color and size. my husband gets a kick out of them. the roos are starting to crow and they sound like they are being strangled! LOL
