**Light issues.....!** PICS ADDED

How are the chicks behaving? Are they quiet and not moving at all, or are they moving about? If it is the last -- they're fine, that's what they are supposed to do at 2 wks old. If they are listlessly sitting and panting they're still too hot. I would get 40 and 25 watt bulbs so that you are able to adjust the temp as they grow up, otherwise you'll have this same problem every week. 88 degrees will be too hot in a week or so as their feathers will start coming in.

When I locked mine into the coop (they're 4 weeks old) they all went away from the lamp to settle down to sleep, I think mine think that 70 degrees is already too hot. i hung the lamp quite a bit higher tonight and I might just shut it off soon. I think that's what they are trying to tell me. It'll be interesting to see where they are tomorrow morning when it is coldest. I open the hatch for them to go into the run at 4:30 am when I leave for work. They're not coming out until later so I can see where they moved as it cooled down in the coop. If they're still away from the light, I think I'm going to turn it off tomorrow.
