This one. The middle bird. Pull it aside and start conditioning it as a show bird. Get ahold of any master breeder
of dual purpose large heritage fowl and ask them how to condition a white bird for show. Delaware,
Columbian Brahma, Columbian Rock. I love the long level back and tail set on this bird. Remember better
the breed silhouette, than perfect coloring. The hackle reaches nicely up the neck and onto the skull.
Black Oil Sunflower seeds given as a daily supplement will really help the feathers to shine. If you wash this bird,
use a top flight dog shampoo which is specially made for white dogs. Chris Christiansen makes one as do
other specialist dog shampoo companies. Take a look at this lovely hen. http://www.sunsetmeadowfarm.com/chickens_and_eggs.html
scroll down to the thumbnail pics. 1st row, far right pic. That is the kind of breast you should be striving for!
Best Success,
Karen

Wow, good looking bird. The show birds are something else compared to just normal chickens.

Hi
frow.gif
,
I have 43 Light Sussex and looking to reduce my flock to 16 for overwinter.
I have hens , a cock, and started birds in both sexes. Egg flock and show quality.
Both the strains I am using are show quality. Some are breeders/show Some are
not as they fail with too much black or cushion on them. Breed type is good on all
of them. Priced accordingly. These are pure English strain birds. The Tewart strain-cross
has never been done before. These strains do best kept pure. Not for folks wanting to
strain-cross with US or Aussie strains. The difference in type between US, Aussie and
pure English will ruin them. There is enough pure English in North America to breed
these birds without a strain cross to other than pure English strains. Located in
western PA, Ligonier, 15658. Yes, we ship at buyer's expense.
Best,
Karen
