Limping Duck!

I made sure she was dry before puttin her in her pen. There were no heat differences when I felt both legs. There doesn't look to be any swelling in her leg either. When doing the salve will I need to wrap her foot to keep the salve on it?

It would be best to keep her on dry clean as possible bedding for at least 2-3 days then see if treating with soaks and salve makes a difference. When soaking with Epsom salt don't let her drink the ES water it also works as a laxative.I use a small bucket and just hold them inside both feet works better for me. 1cup to 1 gal of warm water. Not sure how easy it would be to wrap her foot you can try if that's better for you.

Alright, here is a picture: So I'm pretty sure it's bumble foot. Can anyone confirm? Of course, all of our vets and feed stores are closed on Sundays so we are going to have to wait until Monday to get her antibiotics. Does anyone have suggestions of what to use and where to get them from? Metzer Farms suggests 250mg of amoxicillin per day. It doesn't seem to be to the point of needing to be drained and I'm hoping it won't get to that point, so has anyone had first hand experience with treating this?
You can purchase antibiotics at mmost big pet stores....i buy Fish Mox which is amoxicillan for fish Its in capsule form but i have.mixes the powder with water and administered with eye dropper down the throat with great sucxess

Do you give her any vitamins? If not you could start mixing some in her water when she drinks. Also try water therapy to see if you can get her to use that leg a bit more. Put her in a tub of water and let her swim around and try to use it so she doesnt have the weight pressure on it. I hope she improves!

I have a 5 year old male Peking duck that's been limping really bad for about 6 months can this be attributed to niacin deficiency it doesn't appear to be broken

could be, it could also be a bumble

can you post a picture of the bottom of his feet?

He doesn't have bumblefoot. I've seen that before. But it looks like his feet are turned toward each other and he keeps stepping on his own toes. The only way that he can walk is by leaning on his wing on the right side and using it almost like a crutch. Doesn't seem to be in pain he's eating and swimming and getting around the best you can. But I guess I don't really know how a duck would act if he was in pain except for not eating. I'm going to take him to the vet today but nobody around here in Indianapolis seem to know about ducks. If it is a niacin deficiency will giving niacin now reverse the symptoms?
