What does a crop look/feel like when empty? Thank you all so much for your information.

Flat.
Compare this bird's crop with a few of your other birds crops in the morning.
You'll notice or feel if it is not empty compared to your other birds.

UPDATE: Okay, so she seems pretty normal today, but I will update if anything changes

Well the proof is in the pudding; I’ve used garlic for my chickens for years so I don’t believe it harms them at all. The garlic water method worked for me, so that’s my go to crop fixer as long as I catch it early.

Chickens don’t vomit, so it sounds like your hen has an impacted crop ... which would explain the weight loss, since food isn’t getting to the gizzard to digest
