Liquid Corid dose for Goats?

OK... so then, 6.25cc per 25 pounds would not be that far off, then. In fact it's slightly lower. Well, that's good to hear.
Correct. FWIW, I found the study by changing my search from "Corid goats" to "amprolium goats".

Between you guys and BYH, I have had such great help and so much compassion. For that I am truly appreciative to be associated with so many good friends.
:hugs
I still haven't heard from my Vet, although it is Sunday today. I am weary of treating for Cocci if scours is not present.

@Farmer Connie: How long have you been treating with Corid? I believe the treatment calls for 5 days, when I start a treatment I try and continue the whole dose to try and prevent the cocci from getting immune.

Good that scours is not present, that is excellent. From what I understand it's actually really bad if they get to scours... but in the past, when I've treated goats I bought and brought here (i.e. kids I did not raise myself on cocci prevention) the scours clears up pretty fast, like in the first day or so, and then I continue the treatment the full five days.

I'm so sorry your vet has not got back to you, that's a really awful situation to be in. I hope your goatie will be OK very soon.

Thanks for replying... I have not begun a course of Corid. I was faithfully following the directions from my Vet and stayed on course with her plan. I needed a back up plan in place and I am a worry wart especially of my favorite livestock. I needed reassurance if I do in deed need to begin the treatment with a product I am unfamiliar with as far as Goats are concerned. I am hoping to receive a return call early tomorrow morning. It is the weekend so I have no hard feelings.
She has giving us Sulmet in recent past and now I have learned is is only available Thru a license Vet.. Again, thank you for your input and taking time to reply..:)

So we picked up this Grain today on the way to my Grandson's B-Day.. Made by FRM... It is a medicated conventional grain for show goats. It treats coccidiosis and contains Ammonium Chloride to prevent Urinary Calculi as well as Thiamine Mononitrate to aid with ruminant recovery... 16% Protein... He is skin & bones... I need to feed him more grains despite what I was told.

It's a bit pricey... But that is not a concern right now. He needs to build muscles and walk again.. Protein is needed.

Had a chat with my Vet early this morn.. We are staying on course with her plan as we as the addition of the grain I mentioned. :)
How's the patient?
Hear from the vet?
He is slowly getting some energy back. We have been helping him get up to build some muscle built. He is on grain/timothy hay /mineral diet. His is chudding properly. Taking a drench of amonium chloride for the prevention of urinary carculi while on the heavy grain consumption.

She did call the Monday morning.. We are staying on course. With a lot of effort to get him to stand more.
He is now boney when he once was a muscle bound buck.
:fl is what we are doing. :)
