Was pretty sure this little chap was a chap at 4 weeks. He is now 5 weeks and I heard a little squawky crow this morning!!

What is the earliest you've had a cockerel crow?

I want to say 3 or 4 days old? I finally caught him on video a few days after he had initially started crowing. He was a silkied Red Cochin bantam.

All of my silkied Reds were super early crowers, though. I don't think I've ever had one crow earlier than 3 or 4 weeks outside of them!

Oh my goodness, that is adorable! He’s pretending to be such a big rooster, and all that comes out are squeaks 😂

I thought 5 weeks was early enough. I can't even separate him from his mama hen and put him in a quiet night box yet, he is still cutching under her wing at night 🙄
