Little Giant 9200 Still Air Incubator - humidity

I don't tilt and move it a lot. I do sometimes have to look at the air sac so I can see veins or whatever else. They were saying here somewhere to mark with a pencil the air sac development to see that it is growing. I did that and when the chicks in side got to a certain stage I had to rely on the air sac growing. I ended up with 3 or 4 pencil marks by the time they were done.

Thanks for the info! My older sister just got home and asked if I still wanted the Brinsea incubator I kept talking about. She said she's going to buy it for me as an early Christmas present because she received a little extra money. AND it's the perfect amount of extra money to get buy the incubator! AND it'll be here in plenty of time to put the eggs in next Wednesday. Perfect? I think yes!

I pencil mark my the air cells too. I end up with three of them. My eggs are laying on their sides in the incubator so when I say tilt I don't mean like crazy tilting. This isn't the circus

Oh man it's gonna be one of those days. The kids are hiding from me already!

I'm getting one for Christmas as well!

I like the brinsea but I don't want to spend the money in it. As long as this LG keeps doing what it's doing I can't justify the extra expense lol. I am however going to buy the fan kit and put in. The egg turner helped a lot so I'm thinking the fan will too. We will see I guess

I've read several threads that say adding a fan helps. I am not adapt at that sort of thing so I just plug along with what I've got.

Thankfully I start grad school and Peer Training on Monday ... time is just dragging on! I swear I'm on day 5,000 but according to my hatch records it is only day 11

Started with a new Farm Innovators still air Incubator it is in the perfect area an open closet that is against an inner wall with no drafts and no direct sunlight stays right about 71 all the time. made adjustments before placing the first eggs on the auto turner. added a water line to go into the troughs inside so it don't have to be opened to add water. Added a digital hygrometer in thru the top in the middle and today with the way the adjuster knob is for the temp just the slightest movement and you change it 5 degrees so took 2 popsicle sticks cut one in half and glued it together then took and glued the rounded end of the shortest side to the top of the heater adjuster after it set for a half an hour then glued the full popsicle stick on top of the other allowing it to have a greater area to turn to make adjustments to the temperature more simple and instead of a movement of just a sixteenth of an inch to move 5 degrees using the end of the popsicle stick each movement of 3/4 inch is one degree making adjustment so much easier.

Good luck with grad school! I started back to school last year. I'm still getting my bachelors degree :/. I took a break 20 years ago an just remembered I needed to go back lol

I had to put yesterday's eggs in the fridge because they were too porous to incubate. Today's eggs on the other hand are absolutely perfect. I'm planning on getting 7 eggs for incubation so it'll be between Tuesday and Thursday before I start. I've got 2 so far. Hope I won't have to refrigerate any more until I get to 7.

I had to pull a couple of eggs on day three because the longer they were in the bator the more apparent it was how porous they were.

ETA
Day 13 and have 13 eggs still going.
