We have the Little Giant incubator, got it a few years ago when we first hatched chicks. I can't find the rails locally from any of the feed stores and was thinking of ordering them, but not sure I want to invest in them?

Do you prefer a turner or turn the eggs yourself??

OMG,a turner for sure! Both for convenience and consistent turning. I've done both. It's like asking if you should get a chain saw or chop wood with an ax. No brainer down here.

Haha, thanks. I thought that would be much easier. LOL Our biggest problem is turning at the same times, everyday!!!! I guess I will have to contact Little Giant to get the rails. Or look on Amazon. :)

Me have to open the bator and roll 150 eggs 1/2 a turn 3 times per day for 15 days???
I load mine up, close the lid and forget about it for 2 weeks. And I do forget about it, usually when I hear quail peeping in the bator I remember that I need to lock down.

I bought mine online along with a digital temp / hydrometer. Load them up and let it go. My first batch without it, i forgot to turn them on a couple of days. 50% hatch rate. With the turner almost 70%.

The feed store you bought your incubator should be able to order your quail rails, and they are also on ebay buy it now for about $14.

The neat thing is if you have other game birds you can leave a chicken rail or two in and the rest quail rails. I am about to run pheasant, peafowl, and quail all together.

Happy hatching!

Bought everything at TS a few years ago, but they said they can't order them. They SOMETIMES have them, but not lately

You could try looking at smaller feed stores. My local nutrina mills supplier has only two locations but I am greeted by my first name when I go in there, they even recognise my voice on the phone, as I often call to tell them what to put in my SO's truck on his way home from work. They ordered my rails and called me only 4 days later, and I picked up my rails on my way home from buying my first covey of quail. I like doing business with the little guys. :)
