Okay, most days I find at least 2, sometimes 3, duck eggs around our pond IF I go out to check early in the morning. I wasn't finding any, but since I got rid of some egg-sucking pups, I've been finding eggs. For the past 2 days I've not found any eggs near the pond but I did find a nest behind the house that is getting 3 new eggs a day. So I thought the ducks had moved their 'nest'. Today I found 3 duck eggs around the pond PLUS 3 duck eggs in the nest behind the house. So that's at least 6 ducks (of 9) that are laying.
I'm really thinking my geese have something to do with me not finding eggs on the other days. We have 2 dogs that run loose but they never bother eggs. I figure the geese are rolling them into the water. Would they do that? It certainly seems plausible to me.
