Live chick in trouble - graphic pics - help!

I am thinking the same... it will be a miracle. I feel so horrible that I interferedwith the process in the first place... I will feel a bit better about it all if I can help to save him. Out of my hands, I know, but I can try.

He is looking so much better... he is much more alert. Still sleeping, mostly, but lots of chirping (mostly indignant!), and a good bit of moving around. The yolk is going somewhere, somehow... being absorbed, maybe, or perhaps that is too much to hope for.

And now I am at a loss for words.

He is trying to get out.

I think having some chickies directly underneath him, chirping away, is motivating him to recover...

If you can find some baby parrot hand feeding formula and mix some up to a yogurt consistency, you could give him small beads of it in his mouth with a small syringe. Aspirating birds is very easy, so extreme care should be taken, and making sure it is not watery enough to flow to much is important. I also will take a diabetic needle with warm water& poly-vi-sol mix and inject just under the skin to help hydrate w/o worrying about aspiration.
Best wishes

That is an awesome idea - but I have no idea where I would get a diabetic needle. Can I give him the poly-vi-sol orally?

Parrot mix... not sure where around here I can get that, to be honest.

Can I mush up some chick feed? He is not showing any interest in feeding, but he will drink.

Ok, how about this? Can I hard-boil an egg and mix the yolk with water to get a yogurt-like consistency, and give that to him? Will he still get the vitamins and the nutrients?

WOOHOO!! I am so glad he is still hanging on. Him wanting to stand up is a major improvement!! Keeping finger's crossed that he continues to improve
