Hi weimarmama, I dont know yet . My sisters co-worker gave them to me and I asked what types he has, they are supposed to get back with me. All I know is he has a mixed variety of 20-30 for rattlesnake control in Eastern Washington. I dont know if my neighbors are gonna be so excited for them to reach adulthood

. I do have a couple people that want some if they hatch.

I set 42 eggs on the 13th. I have a broody on 14 eggs, she set herself on the 15th. 56 eggs due first week in May. yikes. !!
Mainly EE's, I have a couple bantam x EE's. I wouldn't have thought it possible, but, I caught Marbles in the act. So, I can't wait to see what these babies look like.

I also have ducks due Easter Weekend, 10 duck eggs under a broody hen. Very busy at my house right now.

This is my second attempt at incubating. My first hatch 35 live babies out of 41 eggs. I am going to follow the same methods as the first go round, no candling, no messing with nothing, until day 18, then, nothing again, until all is done.

They really are good for snake control. We live in a rural, very wooded area & hardly ever see any snakes on our land. Maybe your neighbors won't mind too much. Our closest neighbors have told us several times that they wish our free roaming guineas would come visit them & help them out with snakes

Don't you just love mixed flocks of guineas. Right now, we have pearl, pied pearl, buff dundotte, & lite lavendar. I'm dying to add white guineas this year, but no room in the bators for them this month. As soon as one's empty, though . . .

Hope you have some keets soon & I hope everyone else's eggs hatch, too

How's everyone's eggs doing this week? I candled mine Sunday night & they're doing better than I thought, though it was hard to tell with the Blue Giants' & some of the EE's eggs. And guess what. . . my turkey eggs had veins

We're all getting pretty close to lockdown so good luck everyone.

Set 13 on the 14th. Candled on Sun. Of the light ones we checked, saw movement. (4-5) I think I saw movement in 1 of the maran eggs. Had to take 1 speckled sussex out. It wasn't ferilized. Everything on schedule. Trying to calibrate my hygro. Just found out about that step today!! That is not going very well. Getting mixed readings on 3 diff test. Want to get it right before lockdown on Monday the 2nd.

I set 5 ee's, 4 speckled sussex, 2 cuckoo marans, & 2 brown leghorns. Will candle again on thurs.

this thread is very very quiet, are you all hunting wabbits ???? haha.

I haven't candled mine, nor will I , I am following the methods as I did my first incubator experience which resulted in great results.

one thing I'm doing different this time, I am putting cheesecloth down when it comes lockdown time to save on the big mess.

not candling, not touching eggs at all, no rotten smells , thank goodness. turner is working, temps are holding steady around the 100 mark. humidity fluctuating more then it did the first time, the water is evaporating faster then first go around, I'm finding I am adding water more often.

lockdown in 4 days.

already, wow.

lockdown is sunday night for me.....i had a power outage on the 4th day of incubation for about 4 or 5 hours.....evrybody says that will not hurt me???? i dunno. I dont candle just let it run its corse. temp has stayed consistent at 37.5 and humidity has fluxiated between 40 and 45 percent....will turn it up to 60-65 percent for lockdown.....i should hatch next wensday.....keeping my fingers crossed and good luck to everybody else

Going to candle again tonite! Candled on sunday and everything looking good. Had to buy a new hygrometer today. Calibrating it now with the salt test. It has been 4 hrs, and it is reading 72-73. Need to get this problem solved soon as lockdown for me is mon morn.
Getting to countdown!!

Yes, I have since I last posted, and I agree they do help alot. I am now a little more prepared for the candling. One things you really need to do is have a good candler. Thanks.

Going in lockdown tomorrow, 4/29/11!!
