Remember not to throw them out without doing a float test! JJ has the directions at the top in the sticky thread.

My babies are doing great today.

You wouldn't even know that any of them had a slow or rough start. The reluctant hatchers - including the ones I assisted-- are all doing just great, as fuzzy, active, and healthy as the others. I may still have one or two toes a bit curled, didn't check that.

Boots and Tiny are doing just great, too.

i did a float test yesterday...only 1 was questionable, the others were definitely looking good.
How long can they safely go before they die in the shell or ...whatever...Does anyone know?

Oh, Mrs. Boots is doing fine today. She's a gorgeous little chick. Edited to add: In face, She's actually one of the biggest chicks of the bunch & maybe the single prettiest. Edited again to fix the pronoun & add an S to make it Mrs. I don't want to Jinx myself here.

Say, you don't happen to know a site with color charts for the coturnix babies, do you? I know a couple for button quail.

But, I want to have fun "guessing" what colors I've got here.

I know one is a "wild" (mine).

I was incredibly happy with the fertility rate that I got on shipped eggs, by the way.

This box didn't have a ding in it when it arrived. Unfortunately, they got it here so fast I wasn't looking for it yet, so it stayed in my mail box for 16 hours! Thankfully, it was cool outside & that served as the "settling" time for the eggs.

One egg didn't go in the 'bator because it broke when I marked them. One had gotten dinged around by the post office and started oozing on day 1. So, really I guess I only set 14 eggs because that one shouldn't count, either. That gives a 57% hatch rate on shipped eggs which I think is really good.

Thank you for the chick page. I'm going to go look at it now.

Here are some new pictures. You can see that MRS. Boots is Queen of the Hill (er...Turkey!) That's her beautiful, perfect little foot standing on the Turkey's Eye and the Turkey's Hat.

Do you think the three Yellow chicks with the cute little Spots are English (Whites) then?

Any help figuring out the others would be great! (esp. What is Boots???)
The first picture shows everyone. The others are just for fun (and to show off that perfect little foot...)
