Well, this is the first I've had the assorted colors, so we'll have to see.

Here are Coturnix chick colors. I'm still trying to figure them out.

Looks like a Tuxedo ...

Or...Dark British Range (Tibetan), or Red Tuxedo!

They are all darling. Whatever they are is fine with us. My son is kind of hoping for some Tuxedos. I'm kind of hoping to have one of the light colored Manchurian Golds in there somewhere. If not, though, it's fine!

They are English Whites because I only sent you ones from those pens....or so I thought I did. I have been breeding the Texas A and Ms with more all whites (less spots)..
Should have some tuxes in there...the red looks like a red tux...hopefully not the white face one! I got a weird offspring once HAHA. the white ended up elsewhere instead of the belly. She is a pretty girl though in my opinion. The British Range looks like a tux, not all one color...we'll see

THey are from separate color pen but sometimes "exceptions" occur. My professor once told me "Don't say weirdos, they are not weirds, just exceptions" That's what I tell myself when I get an oddball

Oh, it's okay if they are exceptions (or even wierdos!) I don't mind strange animals. I'm glad to hear they are English, though. I would like the Texas A&M, too, but would prefer the English over those! Smaller birds are fine with me since I'm not having them for dinner!

I just got home & the first thing I did after letting the dog out was head down to check on my wee ones. They are doing great and were ready for their meal. They still had food left, of course, but were ready for fresh food. I was almost out of Manna Pro between the button quail & the new babies.

Wish I could feed it to all my birds but...

In fact, that's why I got home so late! Had to go get them some food at TSC. (So far, TSC & Orscheln's plus one other similar store a75 minutes away are the only places around here that carry it. All of the so-called feed stores here seem to be horse/dog/cat food / wild bird food stores more than anything, plus a small variety of chicken food. I've only had ONE of them even know what I "meant" when I asked for gamebird feed. Unfortunately, that one only carries medicated starter and refused to order non-medicated feed. Dumb (self edit so I don't get banned).

TSC is going to see if they can get me some Purina Gamebird feed. They only carry my 5 pound Manna Pro & big bags of Dumor (trusting those who say to stay away from it!).

Keep nagging them about it, they should be able to get the Purina. I know our TSC carries flock raiser and layena, both of which are Purina feeds. If yours carries that, there's no reason why they can't get the gamebird feed, though you might have to 'remind' them

Oh I will. The guy that was working the customer help desk was yet another idiot. He'll have to check with the sales rep...

I can't TELL you how many feed stores I've dealt with in the last few weeks.

Here's a sampling

#1) Didn't know what Gamebird meant. Didn't seem to know what quail were.
#2) Told me to just feed them Chicken starter, like "everyone else"
#3) Employee who answered the phone didn't know what I meant when I asked what PERCENT they carried (in reference to the gamebird feed they said they had). I had to clarify "percentage of protein" and she STILL seemed confused. Strike them off the list.
#4-6 were phone calls, as well Mostly confusion on what I meant by gamebird. Had more than one tell me to just feed them chicken food.
#7 is listed by Purina as a dealer. They do not carry Purina gamebird feed, but have a different brand. HOWEVER, they only have medicated starter and REFUSED to order anything non-medicated. They are the most convenient location wise and just lost a potential customer!

Orscheln's - not thrilled with the thought. Last time I got Manna Pro there I bought 15 pounds. Got home and it was all full of bugs & so old it looked and smelled weird. Had to take that back.

That leaves TSC (and a few feed stores further away).

The problem you're encountering is because Purina Gamebird startena is a medicated feed. Some on here say that it's not, but I can get it at my feed store and it is medicated.

Well, I just ripped the tag off mine and there's no medicine listed as an ingredient. So it probably depends on the area of the country you are in. But Rozzie, you have to be more specific than Purina Gamebird feed.

Its Purina Gamebird Startena - non medicated (product 5419), they have a couple different Gamebird feeds. I actually pointed out the one I wanted to the feedstore that orders for me, from his list. Unless its the grower feed you are after, which I can't get or the maintenance.

Oh, I am going to start the guessing game and change my numbers 9Birds 5M/4F. Mrs. Boots, Mrs Chipmonk, Mrs White, (the 3 turketeers) Mrs? M Gold. Maybe Mrs. Brown but need a better pic when its got it head up and not sleeping. Good luck with that.

beckeyschicks what do you have ?
