You know what's funny about this little batch of birds?
The first two that hatched were both the same color. The next two that hatched were the same color. But, they are just different enough that I can tell them apart from their markings. From the time they've been in the brooder, they have formed "buddy" relationships with each other. The first two that hatched are buddies with each other, even though I had pulled one of those out and put it into the brooder before the 2nd & 3rd one hatched. The 2nd & 3rd ones went into the brooder before the 4th one. (It went in soon after.) The 3rd & 4th one that hatched are also buddies with each other. Then, the two last to go into the brooder -- Boots & Tiny -- both of who struggled at first (but are now strong) are buddies. Tiny SCREAMS if Buddy goes to the opposite end of the brooder and he can't see him. I mean that chick SCREAMS over it. Once he can see Boots he is fine again. They all seem to have their "buddy." I dunno if my others have done this or not. These chicks are different enough from each other that it is noticeable - and has been since the first day.
