well, I heard chirps around 4:30 pm and then at 5:30 pm. It has gone quiet. Taking a break? How long do you think till pips? An hour? Several hours? I am wondering because its nearing bedtime.....

you just never know. I find a watched incubator is like a watched pot. It seems if you are staring at the incubator...nothing happens. Although I do hear my duck eggs peeping.....

I hear you, about the watched pot. BUT, you see, I am hatching these with my daycare children and really want to catch the process on video....so they can "see" it should it happen when they aren't here...

Does being all quiet mean something is wrong?? I guess I figured once they started chirping, it wouldn't stop!

not so much. I hear chirps from my incubator, but not constant or anything. Just once in a while. Quiet is fine. Not a problem at all.

We have 2 out and about 7 more pips. I can't hardly stay in my chair. None of the dyed ones have hatched yet, but 2 have pipped so we shall see.

Here is a pic of some of today's hatch. 35 of 35 from this rack! 78 of 80 so far... 97% hatch rate!

The brooder is filling up fast! Eggs from the third rack are starting to pip now...

finally! i have 3 of 26 pipped. i didnt realize untill day 19 that my thermometer was wrong and it was 2 degrees off. so instead of it being the perfect 99.5 the whole time, it was more like 97.5, which i guess just leads to slower development. but after 4 days of waiting, and being my first hatch EVER, this is VERY exciting. i cant sit still. it so dang eggciting.
