Lockdown on my first hatch!!!

Are you hens young? Could just be stress of the new location too. I say try again! . I bet it will go better. I have 2 layers. One didn't like sitting on her eggs. She kept pushing them out and they died. She was broody almost 5 weeks so I gave her the chicks I hatched. Now my pullet went broody so I gave her a few of her own eggs (and she found another one idk where! ) So I candled the eggs last night. All have embryos. I love chick season! This broody does not get 9ff the nest! I am going to have to force her to before she kills herself. I brought her food and water cuz I was afraid she'd die!

I'm not sure what their exact age is but they were already laying when I got them. It took them a couple months to lay. The roo definitely had a preference for which hen he wanted to be with, but he has settled for the others since she went broody. I'm sure the infertile eggs were from the other two. I haven't seen my broody off the nest either so I have to check on her daily to make sure she is ok. I may have to make her get off the nest for a bit too, but she is a bit nippy lol! I know she has 3 developing eggs that should hatch in a few days, one was infertile, and she somehow got ahold of another one that I haven't candled yet so I don't know how old it is or if it is even fertile. I can't wait for her eggs to hatch though! This will be the 2nd time I have had a broody hatch eggs (I had a golden comet last year). I love watching momma with her babies!

Hello everyone! I am hoping to find some help here.
I am new to hatching but not too new to chickens. I own 2 Brinsea incubators. Both are spot on. Almost none of my blacks are hatching out. Their all Ameraucana eggs. Second round too...myhatch rates are horrible so far! I’m doing everything by the book! My dark blue rooster is the cock for these and a wheaten and blue wheaten rooster for my two girls of their color.
So....why am I losing so many chicks? They are fully formed, and are dead when I open them.. these aren’t making it too pip! I even ran my bator through day 24... PLEASE HELP...

I have learned through my first hatch there are sooooo many many things that can go wrong because there are so many variables with incubating and hatching. Hopefully one of the more experienced people can help you.

So only your blacks are having an issue and the rooster covers your black hen and your wheaten hens? I would say the issue is with your hen. Some genetic abnormality causing the late deaths. Some hatch cuz the affected Gene is only appearing part of the time since each chick gets 50% from mom & 50% from dad. I would replace your black hen.

My dark blue rooster is in with one black hen and two blues. My wheaten and blue wheaten boys breed the wheaten blue wheaten girls. But yes, it is just the dark blue rooster, now he has thrown 2 that lived, two blacks, and a bkack and a blue also that I had to

If you are getting hatches from some of your blacks/blues I would guess it's a hen issue. Is one hen older than the rest? Next time mark which eggs came from which hen (if you can)
We're all eggs incubated together? I mean blue, black & wheaten eggs in the same incubator? If they were incubated separately, it could still be an incubation error. How many times have you tried hatching from the black/blue pen?

The hens are two years of age. The wheatens are hatching fine
