Thank you! They are precious. I had to look away for a moment and laughed when I saw them all making a break for it. Those little ones are fast too. And some of the most inquisitive chicks yet. I tried to keep them on the towel so the poop would stay on there but oh no... lets check out under the bed and the slippers and behind the blinds!
But when they aren't running around they are the quietest chicks too. Little soft peeps and heads down to sleep.

Thanks Kathy and Cynthia! I have alot of catching up to do. Kathy, you have alot of chicks after your staggered hatch! My babies are now occupying 2/3 of my 8 x 4' brooder I made.
I was very worried about them out there in the garage but Cynthias babies (4 1/2 weeks) and the BLRW & Marans (2 1/2 weeks) are all out there under lights and happy to have all the room. I still have the 1/3 left and in a few weeks the Light Sussex will make their way out there too.
It was pretty easy to make and will make good breeder pens in Spring. I am going to make a few more as time and funds permit.

Congrats on the babies! They are so cute. I really love the one of them all running away from the camera.

Well, I lost another one. That makes 3 of the 6 that i had to help out that i lost, but the other 3 are doing great. I have 1 that is still in isolation because she was just so much weaker than the others. She is doing well now and eating and drinking on her own. She is in a clear plastic tote in the brooder with the others so they can see her and her them. This is the one I really didn't think was going to make it. She laid on her back and flopped around a lot and seemed to have a weak neck. But I hand watered her for 3 days (even got up in the middle of the night to do it), fed her yogurt by hand, and then splinted her leg and made booties in an effort to get her to stand up right. She is now walking around fine and if she does fall over (from scratching or something) she can get right back up. She is drinking out of the quail waterer I have in with her and is eating the food I have sprinkled on the floor. Of the 3 that were weak I really thought this was the one that wouldn't make it. I know she is not out of the woods yet but she seems to be doing much better. I was so worried about coming back to work today. But last night my husband (who swears he wants nothing to do with the chickens

) had the little one out and taught her how to drink out of the quail waterer, so we left it in there with her and I watched her drink out of it several times so I was comfortable leaving her today.

I really want to thank everyone for their advice and help and I feel so much more confident for my next hatch (which goes into lockdown today for new years!).
