I am so sorry to bail out on everyone and their hatches but I had my Christmas Eve dinner here and had 17 people to love on and enjoy.
All my children came and and we had such a good time. The oldest brought over his Rock Band and I played the drums! That was so fun.
I am so very happy for everyone and your beautiful little chicks and those still coming! It is always a miracle to watch the chicks emerge from their shells.
Save the Favs--I never drop the temp, but then mine is too complicated for that. I just let them hatch and when everyone is done I put them in a nice warm brooder with water and food. I would love to see pics of the Favs. I have some Salmon Favs. The roo's are awesome!
Brandibaby--that is part of the fun, watching those chickies come out. Mine average 12 hours from the time I see the pip to the zip & out. Some a little sooner and some a little later. The inner membrane is recovering from the puncture made by the chick. It instinctivly knows to wait and rest so it doesn't bleed to death. So over about 12 hours it will rest and then start again. Near the end it just takes off and goes!
Kathy-What can I say but Way to go!!! More quality Dels in the world--WooHoot! The pictures were great and I can't wait to see the Orps too! What is next on the agenda the Black Faced Spanish?
As for my little ones, all 12 have hatched, I did help the last one out this morning. I think it was a humidity issue, but not sure. It had zipped 3/4 of the way and got stuck. It was the last one and didn't get out before the humidity levels dropped. It is in the bator now resting and drying. Mostly resting. That was a long time to be stuck.
One little chick has a bloody head. I don't know what the others did to it, but I may have to seperate it because all the other chicks are attracted to the red and want to keep picking. Other than that it seems healthy.
I will take pics later on (DH is still sleeping and he had the best time on Rock band!) The camera is in the bedroom charging.
I will pop in throughout the day to see how you are all doing. Need to go and visit a few places too today.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday to you all.
