That's a heat sink. Got the idea on here researching homemade incubators. My incubator had one so I figured I might as well have one in the hatcher too! I use a modified water heater thermostat to control temperature (it turns the light on and off when needed) and is pretty steady at 99 / 100 in the hatcher.Thats funny and so cute Boy first time i ever have seen the mess they make hatching.... Its not pretty!! LOL But they are little dolls so worth the clean up i am sure.(i havent had a hatch yet))Not to be nosey but what is in the jar in the corner of the pic?
I definitely wasn't prepared for the mess. I got some bright green poopy looking stuff. Umbilical cord goo...no blood though so that's good. I'm definately making modifications before the next batch including a level wire shelf to put all the eggs on and a water pan underneath them for humidity.
