Looks fine to me but every one is right you may have taken care of climbing preds but the flying one can still have fun picking them off.

That is pretty much what mine looks like only with cattle panel and welded wire instead of fencing. I only have chickens at the moment (waiting for ducklings to hatch). But, in the fall we had a hawk surveying the chickens. They were locked inside their coop and small run, not the bigger open pen/run area. Otherwise they might have become hawk dinner.

I choose to lock the ducks and chickens in their coops overnight despite being attached to a secure pen. I know their coops are far more secure than the pen. When I go out of town, however, I do not have the sitter come back and lock everyone up. They just come once in the morning and once in the evening and I decide that is sufficient. I would not hold them accountable if something happened while I was away. Also I think that if they are in the pen they are more of an attractant to predators who can see them and over time the predators may figure out a way to get in after months of serious temptation.

The hawk I saw literally swooped down and glided by the chicken coop. If I had not seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed it!

We have them daily and soon it will be the family once the chicks start flying with the parents. I use predator tape around the birds property. They still fly over and scare the poor birds to death.

I had a Red tail fly into our property right up close to the house to get one of my bantam hens My rooster was making such a fuss I went out to see what was going on that is when the hawk came flying over the goose house must have been a female she looked like a 747 flying over, my ducks and geese were so scared they were literally smashed up against the gate coming in the back yard. My poor hen was killed I guess I scared her off before she had a chance to carry her off. This part of the yard has huge poplar trees on it I would have never thought a bird with that wing span could get through there.

I could say that....up until last week. I found one dead, caught the hawk on my security camera. Evil. But they were out free ranging my yard at the time. They are mad at me now for being locked in their net-covered run.
The good news is, eggs are easier to find!
