Background to this little duck is that we had two- a Rouen (drake) and a Pekin (mama) for about four years (when we got them as ducklings they were supposed to be two females). We also have a backyard flock of chickens (all hens). Mama duck died this summer and about three weeks later we found a duckling in the hen house that was brooded by a hen. We'd never hatched anything before and tried to keep all females 😂. Long story short is the duckling is about 6 weeks old and we don't know how to introduce it to our backyard flock. It loves its mirror and feather duster but really needs friends. Photo in comments. Help please!

Put the duckling in a pen next to the other ducks and birds and let them meet through the fence but not touch. Depending on how they do, I would let them stay on either side of the fence for maybe a week or two? I did two weeks for my ducks and they did great once I let them out together. They need to figure out the pecking order so at first there was a bit of pecking and squabbling but it settled down quickly.
