Lonesome no more...

Guinea Pigs are great much better then a hamster or rat in my opinion as I have had all of them. Pigs are also addictive just like chickens. At one point I was up to 18 but I was showing them so it was ok

Now I am down to a peruvian boar and a silkie sow which is fine by me! Way to much work to have to keep those cages cleaned. I love the cc cages but they can be a hassle mine was a monster but I was so thankful for my shop vac it would clean them out in a jif. Here is one of my show pigs mocha she was great in her time now she is just a pet. She is a silkie satin isnt she pretty

lurky... you can teach your pig to use a litter box just like a cat, rat, bunny or whatever ...it just takes patience. And yes, they do tend to pee in one place ..but poo is more random ...hence the need for patience when training

I woke this A.M. and peeked in on her (no name yet)
and she was eating her food. I think she was afraid to move yesterday, so i'm glad she is getting used to her new place.

There's a LOT of info out there, so pace yourself and you'll be fine

The little girly will tell you her name when she's ready. It usually takes me a day or a few to have a name... getting to know them and so on.

When I got J.R. ...everyone's mommy.. I couldn't really think of a name for "him" at all. Then one day, it just hit me how much he looked like a cow that I raised up, from my childhood ...so "he" became Jersey Rose cuz my calf/cow was a Jersey and her name was Rose. Now that I think back to that ..I could've jinxed myself LOL ...I mean, I was told J.R. was a boy ..and he definitely is NOT.

to those interested in piggies / cavies, please check with local animal rescues first! There is one in this area that has many different kinds of birds, RABBITS, AND CAVIES / guinea pigs for adoption to good homes. Please ALWAYS CHECK YOUR LOCAL SHELTERS FIRST! Give a deserving animal a second (or third, or fourth, ....) chance for a happy life in a loving home! *falling off soapbox now...*
