I live in Northern California and was thinking about ordering chicks maybe from Meyer or ideal. Is this too far for them too be delivered I don't know about any hatcheries around me?? Also I don't think my local post office has any experience delivering chicks and don't know if they'll properly deliver them or call me to come get them. I don't want a delivery of dead chicks!! What do u guys think

i have ordered chicks twice from mypetchicken.com (which uses Meyer) and all babies arrived safely to central new jersey. i would just choose a delivery date in the milder weather of spring. the post office may not be the most concerned about the temperatures.
