Long live the King - the neverending story of Brahmalot!

Ha, that is definitely something worth catching on video! I had an older hen who was only laying sporadically who went through a period of crowing. I said she was going through henopause, although crowing certainly is not a symptom of henopause for all hens.

The youngest citizens of Brahmalot had an adventure in the great outdoors today while their twin nurseries were getting some alterations.

Danger in Brahmalot!

The littlest citizens enjoy a couple of hours outside the nursery ...

Climbing the big tree is a favorite game

Lots of bugs in the palm trees

Eating from the grown-ups' bowls can be fun, too.

Lady Flopsymopsycottontail watches the babies play.

Suddenly, without warning, a dragon swoops from the sky, grabbing one of the children! The dragon lifted her approximately 6 feet into the sky, dropping it when one of the neighboring giants came running. The little one survived the fall and ran to her sisters and brothers to hide.

The brave one has now earned her name, Talon! It seems her only injuries were two shallow talon holes, one on each side. This lucky little girl is now a guest inside the giants' kitchen for the next day or two. She is limping a bit, but eating well and seems to be okay!

Them darn dragons!! I'm glad she is OK and eating!! I have yet to have a problem with hawks and eagles even though they fly over everyday!!
