He is large and heavy, so it is thought this is arthritis, if chickens get that. There is no one in the nearby kingdoms trained in chicken medicine, so we do the best we can.
Another thought is maybe an internal injury from King Samson. If so, hopefully he is healing from that, too. He certainly was battered and bloody on the outside.
