I haven't had to use golf balls yet. The banty knew where she was supposed to put the egg. I've had six eggs from the little sweetie in 11 days. I've got 15 more hens, bigger breeds, who need to get busy soon.

I remember those days. Now when I go out to the coop, I'm so disappointed if there isn't at least a half dozen waiting to be picked up. I miss those early days of first layings. Oh well, three barred rocks are maturing nicely. We should have that kind of eggcited anticipation in another two months again!
