Look What I found: (UPDATED)

No she has no milk on her, just the teats. I just did not know if she may be pregnant. If I don't hear anything on her by Monday or Tuesday I am going to take to the vet and have her checked. If she has not be spade, I plan to see about getting that taken care of, but do not want to until I am sure she is really mine...

She doesn't look like she has recently had puppies, she would have noticeable 'boobs'. She looks either too well-fed or pregnant to me.

I think she looks like a beagle/bassett cross, they can be quite chunky, with those short legs, longer body. Definitely a beagle head and ears. Darling girl.

She sure is a cutie! I would say definitely beagle crossed with either basset or dachshund depending on how heavy she is. She looks more chunky than pregnant to me. Neither of my girls have visible scars from their spay surgeries and one of them also had an incision for a hernia as well that is not visible. Have you had her checked for a microchip yet? Most vets and shelters can scan for that.

aw... well, if she has a home and people are scared for her and missing her... I hope they can be reunited... seeing that she's so chunky, someone was taking care of her.

And if they have dumped her or don't care to find her, I'm happy you crossed paths and are able to give her love.

If she is a beagle/dashhound mix then it is possible that she is a hunting dump at this time of year. I know in this area when the dog stops working for them they just remove the collar and leave it.

Here in eastern NC we have a huge amount of beagles and beagle mixes in the shelters. Since hunting season is due to be over here for deer on the first of the year it makes sense to me that if they don't want to take care of the dog for the rest of the year, they just leave it. Some folks just don't care, the dogs are just a tool to them.
