Look what we did/are doing! UPDATE 8/26

Around the sides and bottom of the door opening we nailed a 1"x.25" shim and then on top of that we added a trim piece and overlapped on the inner edges a little bit forming a channel for the door to move up and down through. We then put a couple of pulleys through out the run area to lead the rope through the hardware cloth to a point where we can anchor it off. I'm not sure if that makes sense, let me know if it doesn't.

Thanks for the pulley system layout. Going to help a lot. How big is the door? I want to make sure my L. Brahma can fit through.
 
Well done, indeed! It'll be fun to see these guys grow into their coop. I live out in Parker Colorado so I consider us neighbors! We have a GREAT chicken community here in Colorado...if you haven't already be sure to go visit the Colorado page.

My first coop went ok...nothing like what you guys have but it's a process as you well kno why know!
