Look who arrived today!

If she doesn't eat try feeding her with a syringe like Nikki suggested. But hopefully she'll get her appetite back soon.

I will do that. Thank you!

One of the little Buff girls had poo caked all over her butt, blocking the exit, if you will. She did not agree with me cleaning her up and she voiced her opinion loudly.

All better now though.

It's pasty butt. Put a little vaseline on her bum to stop the poop sticking again. And while you are at it, tell her pasty butt can kill chicks, so she must not complain

A little ACV (apple cider vinegar) in their drink water will help prevent pasty butt. (4-5 tablespoons to a gallon water)

Sometimes you just get some slow starters. If she still isn't going after the feed try a little crumbled hard boiled egg. Chickens love it and it may get her to eat more. Good luck!

Thanks for the pasty butt tip, will do.

The little Rock girl ate a bit of the mash I made out of starter and sugar water, then I put her in the feed plate and she started pecking at the food. She's still weak and gets pushed around, but she is eating. I also observed when she moves around, she is unsure on her feet and falls a lot.

BTW, I'm a member of a number of different forums(Toyota Landcruisers, Homebrewers, etc). It's nice to see members being helpful to a newbie without berating. Thanks.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!! I wish mine would be that little again but now he is growing up to be a big chicken. Can't wait to see that big chicken.
