Looking for beautiful Breeds

Pics
I have a few silver laced wyandotte and I think they are gorgeous! They are also cold tolerant due to their combs and they handle our pennsylvania humidity and 100 degree weather okay. I do have plenty of shade though😁
I would agree, Wyandotte’s are beautiful. My 2 ladies squat for me every time I enter the coop because they’re so docile and think I’m their rooster. even tempered and handle the heat well.

White Face Black Spanish. Super cool breed. This is my hen Clarabelle( top two pics) I had her brother, but rehomed him so he didn’t have to live with a no crow collar ,

he is a handsome guy( last pic) Heat tolerant more then cold but we get snow and they do fine. They are on the critically endangered list by the Livestock Conservancy so raising them is good for the breed. Mine are Curious friendly birds and the hens lay a good number of large white eggs.

I'm trying to think of different breeds I want to get. I don't want just 'normal' birds (leghorns, orpingtons or australorps, normal birds like that.)

Wishlist:
-Heat tolerant! I'll be living in AZ in a few years and I can't have the A.c. in their barn XD
- cold tolerant too because we will be in the part if the state that gets a little below freezing at its coldest
-Broody wouldn't hurt, love my phoenixes going brood and just increasing themselves without my help
- Pretty. I want beautiful birds, with variety in colors and 'extras
I would suggest Speckled Sussex, mine have proven to be heat/cold tolerant (we get both extremes). They are beautiful and soooo friendly

I can thoroughly recommend Pita pinta Asturiana. From the Iberian peninsula they are used to hot summers, but also tolerant of cold winters being from the Atlantic coast of Spain. They are a beautiful dual purpose bird and they come in 4 colour-ways: pita pinta negra = black and white mottled; pita pinta roxa = red/brown and white mottled; pure white; pure black. I believe that , although rare, they are available in the States.

Oh boy......you will want to add a Frizzle to the flock! I was minding my own business, raising and tending to a Mille Fleur batam flock for 36 years! Started in Pasadena.....(in a neighborhood that had not heard roosters in years!)
After

Have I ever! I wanted Mille Fleur bantams.....36 years ago..I lived in Pasadena..and I asked my friend the race horse trainer (his horse won the Kentucky Derby and he had Mille Fleur bantams) to pick some out in San Diego when I heard there were some there! He said: "Well okay.....I am here training the horses for the Del Mar race....but how will I get them to Pasadena?" (three hours on a good day) I said, "You will send them in a taxi!" He said....."you are not kidding". No. (you have to pay both ways if you call a taxi)
The taxi arrived with 3 teenage hens and one rooster in the back seat in a cardboard box. We took pictures!
I asked the taxi driver what I owed him. He said, "Mr. Gregson told me to tell you it was on him; and he will be telling this story the rest of his life!"

They are the most beautiful chickens.....can I send a picture!

Now the story of the Frizzle! One rooster just started crowing at 6 am......and I was worried one of my flock was out! The gardener said....."you have a new friend!" Someone had dropped off a Frizzle rooster! He made friends immediately with the roosters and hens....and the babies....well.....I have to send pictures....Exquisite mixed-breed!

I love barred rocks because they lay when it is hot, they lay when it is cold. I mix it up a bit by throwing in a few Easter Eggers for colored eggs for the grandkids and some production reds or other high production hybrid. If you want broody you can get some of the old time kind of chickens. They won't lay a lot but they can be your broody hens for you.
