looking for some goldlaced orpingtons, will take eggs or chicks.
have buffs and would love to add some exotic coloring.

I have some bad news. There may be no Gold Orphinghtions in the USA! We have a very limited color selection of orphinghitions compared to europeans. Their may be a few breeders in the US but they have very limited numbers of birds.

I'm afraid that Henry is correct. Someone may have a secret project here in the U.S., but to my knowledge, there are no Gold Laced Orpingtons available in the United States.

I do have my Buff orpingtons roos in with my Wyadottes hens. Is that how you make that color??

Here's one post that condenses it a bit by chook in eire:

Gold-laced Orpingtons were bred in Germany from Buff and Black Orpingtons and double-laced Barnevelders.
The originals varied a lot in the ground colour (not surprising given the mix of brown e^b from the Barnies and e^wh from the Buffs plus the red diluter Di) and the lacing was often unclear and mossy.
Eventually the standard was set to a cinnamon ground colour and Blacks were crossed in again which apparently much improved the clarity of lacing.

That's all I know (from the German Orpington Club Centenary book).

Single lacing requires Melanotic Ml and the Pattern gene Pg, both coming from the Barnevelder, and Columbia Co, which must have come from the Buff Orpington, on a brown e^b or wheaten e^wh background.​

I have a single comb SLW roo.He's much bigger now, that picture is about 4 months old.

I'm not sure what this cross is but with the yellow legs and single comb I think it is a SLW x Partridge Rock.
