I don't breed them( yet) but from what I read and observed is most will be available in late summer/ fall. Unless someone is parting with last year birds...

I'm looking for them close enough to pick up...a few hours max from where I live in NJ. NJ must be the only state in the country that needs to have an official Vet heath certificate accompany any livestock shipped into the state, along with the NPIP certificate. That almost makes any purchase cost prohibitive...Mandies shouldn't have to cost over $100. So I want to find them semi locally and I'll pick them up.

thats what Im doing. I may get some birds(mandies, ringed teal, or marbled teal) from a BYC'er this fall, and I would rather drive up there because at least you get to talk to the owner and look at the other birds(if allowed) It may be cheaper even in some cases.
