Looking for Partridge Plymouth Rock Breeders

Thanks for enlightening me on how to search NPIP web site by state using breed code. It's tiresome but at least the google find option makes quicker work of it once on states a states list.

I will narrow down the above list. Being NPIP does not ensure breeder stock. I'll go through and weed out all listed with 5 or more breeds. That will knock off hatcheries and people with mixed flock of hatchery birds that got NPIP certified. Would make for more realistic start to cold call folks asking about birds. I also note that both actual breeders of Partridge Plymouth, code R34, do not show up when using this method. They are both NPIP certified and both showed in Springfield this January. So not an absolute list but certainly a way to find folks. I like it!

Anyone needing breed and variety codes for this meticulous method of searching for stock:

A few of these I suspect are backyard flocks still but it certainly narrowed down possible contacts. Ya know, if they had 4 to 7 varieties I'd look at what they had. Some made sense as to breeders others had comets with leghorn and partridge so not on list above. For example Ed from Kansas has only many varieties of Rosecomb Leghorn and Partridge ROck. He looks like a breeder.

The original list was all NPIP people (on the list...some missing) with that variety/breed code. Many were actual hatcheries- 20 breeds type thing. And I wouldn't consider people with golden comets to be breeders type thing. I'd say the condensed list is pretty accurate as to containing a few actual breeders.

That's what I mean, I'm surprised people with Golden Comets and the like are getting NPIP testing. Maybe it's regional... I still haven't gotten mine done since there was a shortage of antigen last year and it hasn't been a high priority for me yet, I don't plan to sell any of my breeders yet.

You know how some folks are. Think they need to make sweaters for poultry. Type that would get NPIP for false sense of security of healthy flock. Then you've got some states with crazy regulations just to sell backyard eggs- require NPIP. Stuff like that.

Then there are people missing from the list. State inspector didn't write down all the breed types or never changed it when people got into the breed. Wynette here who is great breeder of Silver Pencilled was not on any state list using this method. And as stated neither was Norman Ennis. I suspect his inspector never changed his code from meat birds and he's not done that in 4 years. So it is what it is. A means to find some potential contacts. Where one may find more contacts from cold calling folks on list. Meh, it's a start.

Well, I'm just glad that I could be of service.
I wouldn't fully discount people who also have production hybrids.
I breed D'Uccles for show from high quality stock and I also have a hybrid laying flock. Just saying.

Plymouth Rock lay a good amount of eggs. There is no need to get production layers if you've got a flock of Rocks. If you breed game birds sure, those people are hatching nearly all of the few eggs laid each year so would need eggs for the table. I don't know much about D'Uccles other than seeing them at shows and thousand flower pattern.

My D'Uccle girl laid a grand total of 4 eggs a year.
Plus being bantams, the eggs are not substantial.
