What medicine, what ailment?

I don't know what people do with their chickens. . but occasionally I will have a duck that gets wormy.
I treat them with safe guard. Ducks go around eating all kinds of things out of the ground there is not much a person can do food/shelter/ventilation wise to prevent them from occasionally picking up worms.
I prefer to individually dose them rather than take the chance of under dosing them which could potentially cause the parasite to build an immunity to the medication.

Reason being. . I am not going to sit back and watch my bird die from worms. . any more than I would my dog or cat.

You are correct, I would use worm medicine, if needed. Birds generally do not die from worms, but do become less thrifty. However, in a hugely weakened state, they are suspectible to other things they could die from.

Anyone have any pictures that show how to correctly carry and restrain a chicken, duck, turkey, etc that I can use in my article? You will get photo credit of course.

Thanks for pointing out that tiny detail. .
True. Let me restate. . I am not a fan of having to treat for other ailments that could arise from a bird whose immune system is weakened from having a parasite.

I have a girl with a bit of a limp today. . so I tried to get some pics since I needed to check her out anyway.
Mine are pretty tame. . so it's not too difficult. But if I have a wild one I would wrap them in a towel first to keep from getting wing slapped. But here's how I hold them to check legs and feet. I have a little folding stool I sit on when I'm going to be doing meds or checking more than one out. Today I didn't use it but you get the idea.

I think she has a small bumble starting on her foot.

I tried to get a mouth shot to illustrate how I would open her mouth to administer meds with a syringe. . but that was too hard of a pic to get by myself.
