Hi,
I want to find out which hens are laying eggs and who is just hanging out.
I would like to put a wireless video camera of some sort into my coop that I can watch from my pc, not a tv in the house.
Our house is close to 300 feet from the coop. I can look out the window right by the computer and see the coop so there aren't any major walls obstructing the transmission signal.
I have electric in the coop. I would like to spend about $100 or so on camera and receiver. I really don't care about night vision since the hens sleep at night anyway.
I have looked on ebay for security cameras and they either are really expensive $200+ or the cheaper ones usually seem to get bad reviews when looking them up.
If anybody has a bought/used a wireless camera that is working well (decent picture - I don't even care about sound) on a distance of about 300 feet, please let me know what model you are using and how much it cost you. I am afraid to to just go out and buy one and then being stuck with one that does not work well. Also, I noticed that some cameras are not designed to work below 32 degrees, so I guess I am looking for an outdoor type camera.
THANK YOU!
