So after researching caring for and breeds of ducks, I have decided that Welsh harlequins are the breed that best suit what I am looking for- calm and friendly, great layers, smallish, and very pretty! I would love "buy Virginia" instead of ordering from a hatchery, especially since I only have room for about 4, and don't really want drakes (I would have too hard a time selling the babies, would want to keep than all lol). Unfortunately I can't make the swap this weekend, but would be able to drive as far as richmond at the end of May.
