I am looking for some help with the wiring phase of my homemade incubator. I am trying to connect a weather proof light socket, one of those reptile incubator thermostats, and an old box fan plug.
First, I can't figure out which wire is input and which is output on the old fan cord. Is input the one with all the writing on it? Also, the fan cord says 300v, and the light socket is 600v. Will this cause problems? I am planning to connect the wires by twisting them together and securing with glue gun. Finally, does anyone have experience wiring the thermostat? I couldn't find very many graphic how-tos on the internet. it looks like this:

Thanks~
