Looking to gift my ralatives some hens/chicks. What breeds should I get?

To answer your original question, I wouldn't get any more chicks until the area is predator proofed, but when you do that, maybe some silver laced Wyandotte, or a buff Orpington

Great, still doesn't make it safe for them to face a fox nor are they LGDs

Australian shepherd dogs can handle a fox but the bark is enough to determine a fox I have 2 Australian shepherds so they can handle a coyote if theirs a pack my shotgun will have their back

These have already been introduced to the flock

But the op hasn't had one introduced. And like the other poster said, LGDs are absolutely not a solution for every situation

Not to mention, you have two ADULT dogs, and a shotgun, while you're proposing a single puppy to OP, and you don't even know if they possess a firearm. In addition, handling and remaining healthy and well are two different things, and I wouldn't want to put my dogs in danger just because they MIGHT survive the attack. But let's get back to the original question, OP didn't ask for LGD advice
