Yes, the City of Pensacola code allows for poultry. Current code says pen/coop must be 50 from any dwelling, church, school, basically any occupied building, including the owner's dwelling. Code revision (as yet not passed by the City Council) is reducing the distance to 30 and excluding the owner's dwelling.
Current code does not limit number of poultry and allows roosters. Proposed code would limit number to 8 and ban roosters.
New code would allow free-ranging in owners yard; current code requires chickens to be penned at all times.
