LOS ANGELES county CA under bird quarantine :(

I do feel for all those affected by the vND in California and I do feel for Kerri and others who had to stand by powerless as their beloved pets were inhumanely “euthanized”. I think if she hadn’t made such a big fuss over the way her birds and others’ birds are being dispatched that the CDFA would sweep their complaints under the rug and write them off as crazies. The fact that she got CDFA/USDA to acknowledge that their temporary workers aren’t properly trained and the euthanasias aren’t being performed humanely and properly is no small feat.

Meanwhile, the Ebola Virus has spread into Uganda. That is the human disease equivalent of Newcastles in birds. Let us hope that they do a better job over there and that doesn't become endemic all over the world as Newcastle's disease has. And if it comes here, we will hope someone more competent than Annette Jones is put in charge of "eradicating it".

There is zero chance IMO of ebola existing in places with advanced infrastructure, and will remain localized in rural populations in central Africa with poor nutrition.

Not exactly an answer to your demand, but it does show that chickens can become immune to vND. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/06/190614111923.htm

Here's my synopsis of this study. Since NCD is not particularly virulent among backyard chickens in countries where the virus is endemic, scientists are looking for a gene in their egg embryos that could possibly be used in industrial flocks that are bred for production, not health, to make those flocks less susceptible to the disease.

Yes. Pretty much a short cut for the poultry industry to continue mass production in the event of a possible disease outbreak.
