Yes ... THAT finally sank in this moning.
Working the farmer's market with my friend tomorrow, which should be fun. She has goats and is selling goat shares, cheese, soap and some of her stained glass artwork and wildlife paintings. After I get my Angora goats, I will start selling their fiber along with some baked goods, jams and weavings. It will hopefully give me something to do this summer along with bringing in a little extra money.

We have 3 vehicles between DBF and myself: an Escape, a pickup truck and DBF has a car. He's going to sell his car now that I'm not working so that will help save on insurance and maintenance costs. He only works 10 miles away, 4 days a week so he won't be putting a lot of miles on anything.

UPDATE

10 days left of school, but very hard to get motivated. Got irritated at the principal today when we had a staff meeting in the morning and she not-so-tactfully hinted that I didn't need to be there because she was going over things for next year.

Anyhoo, stitches are sensitive and tender but getting energy back and pain is minimal even without pain meds. My friend with the goat milk soap business is paying me to set up and manage her website for her, so it will be some pocket money and something to do.

One of the union guys apparently tried to talk to the principal the other day, telling her that I was going to be hard to replace and that she might not be giving me all the chances that she could be (oh yeah, the phys ed teacher said [he's actually an old high school friend of my mom's] ALL of our employees lose a husband and child in a year. It's not an extenuating circumstance. ) He was beign sarcastic of course.

Oddly enough, another teacher is being deemed as ineffective. She's gone through a divorce, had her teenage son ran away from home to end up in jail last fall, and now her aunt with Alzheimer's is living with her.

Strange how the district is zeroing in on those who are under a lot of stress, and those who have potentially embarrassing skeletons in the closet for the district (teacher with a son in jail, teacher getting pregnant out of wedlock ...)

I am so glad that you will not be working under that terrible pressure anymore. Now you will have a chance to heal which will not only benefit yourself, but also your loved ones. In my experience things that take an unexpected turn, often work out for the best. Good luck to you.

DBF has been working the night shift at plastics factory. They're laying off. He just called to let me know and he'll call on his break what the update is. They changed his position from assembly line to hi-lo driver and when they had off-day training, he was the only one from his shift that showed up. I know they like him as a worker, I'm hoping that they'll keep him. We certainly don't need him to be laid off now.

False alarm. They did let 2 employees who weren't working out go. DBF is one they are keeping and he's now eligible for benefits.
PHEW! Certainly didn't need any more bad news.

Hoping things are going to star picking up, I'm actually kinda looking forward to being home now.
