Of course we thought we had a predator proof house and cage, but the 'beast' broke the chicken wire and got all 6 babies and the 3 un hatched eggs. We still have our little black sex-link hatchery hen and she still wants to be a Mom. She is back in the laying box and back on some eggs the other girls gave her.

My question is, do I let her go right back to sitting on eggs of should I force her to take a break. I have a couple of weeks to secure the fence before babies are born again. She is inside the house with all doors closed at night. She is on the nest the other girls and the roo roost inside at night and range free during the day. They usually stay close to the our house with our house pets (dogs & cats) to protect them during the day.

Thanks

I don't know if I'd make her sit again, but I'd probably get her some chicks to raise for you. I definitely would secure her run though first.
