Lost Flipper to Unknown Predator

I got excited when I saw the cameras and was ready to buy a couple but then found out they are only for indoor use:th

"intended" for indoor use. I have one outside pointing toward one of my pigeon nests. It’s been out for over a week, sub-freezing temps for the past 3 days. It’s still working fine.
I did make a temporary “cover” for it, in case we got any rain. It has snowed, but not rained very hard since I put it out.

Granted, they aren’t the most high definition fabulous camera systems. But the night vision is acceptable, I can watch from anywhere, they record and the playback is easy to use, and for the price, hard to beat.

A large racoon means your coop run setup has a large gap somewhere, racoons can climb . Is your run open on top?

No, it’s covered, but there may be a small gap where the roof joists meet the top of the wall on one corner. There is a heavy duty tarp wrapped tightly at that spot, but it could have been chewed through. The door gap is 1/2 inch to 1 inch, if pried open, so I can’t see a large raccoon getting through it. I’ll go scout it out when it warms up a bit. There has been 6-8 inches of snow covering the whole roof and all of the tarps. I haven’t seen any tracks around when I’ve been working around the pen. I have a solid surface floor, but I suppose an animal could chew through it if it worked long enough at it.

I think I might be able to put it under the barn roof where it would be protected from the wet weather. It works with wifi? If so, my barn is over 300' feet from the router. :idunno

thanks, I looked at the specs and it has to be within 45' and I've got a good 300+' !
I've got an alarm system company that I just may be able to add a camera to because I've got a range extender for the motion detectors in the barn. I'm going to call them right now. Of course the camera is $200!
