Lost my Indian runner to a dog

Hi... I have had two Indian runner ducks now since they were 9dys old. Last night one of them was attacked and killed by I think the neighbors dog.. I’m so sad because these ducks are like sweet puppies.. Anyway, any advice on helping my other duck . she seems so lonely. would she be better off in a flock of ducks than being alone. Thank you for any advice. My heart is broke. I loved her.. thanks again,Norma

That is so sad I know what you mean by saying ducks are like sweet puppies. Definitely do try to get your other duck a buddy. So sorry for your loss.

If you know for sure that your neighbors dog killed him/her then you most defiantly need to go talk to them... they should understand. ask them to keep there dog better contained etc.
For your other ducky yes you should try to get a buddy for her, maybe try searching craigslist and see if they have any ducky's for sale.... once again so sorry for your baby, Hope you will be able to find a friend for her soon

So very sorry for your loss My Runners would be beside themselves if they lost all their friends and only 1 was left. They are such a tight nit group.

Until you can get your lone duck a buddy perhaps put an ubbreakable mirror with the duck, maybe a duck sized stuffed animal to company too?

When my ducks were hatching last year one hatched a day early so I put a stuffed animal in there for company.
