Chick #1 is settled in the huddle of bodies and very likely to survive.

Chick #2 is sleeping in the car with me. I'm in the car to charge my phone to keep up with BYC and be able to use my flashlight.

You could put a thermometer between the chick and the paper towel.

Unfortunately, I don't have one narrow enough. The only thermometer I have is in the incubator which can't be opened.

Temps in the 90s for the next couple days so that will help. Your chicks should be just fine. I had one chick this spring (brooder was a large water trough with only 1 heat lamp in an unheated basement) that very rarely spent any time under the heat lamp.
